Configuring Your Anamnesis Template
A good anamnesis is the backbone of every clinical decision. But when each professional asks different questions — or forgets one under pressure — important information slips away. The Anamnesis Template in Veetz solves this: you define your standard clinical interview questions once, and they become available in every new anamnesis, for your entire team.
Why Use an Anamnesis Template?
- Consistency: Every patient is interviewed the same way, no matter who is attending.
- Speed: No more typing the same questions over and over — insert them with a single click.
- Completeness: A predefined checklist means no question is forgotten during a busy consultation.
Navigating to the Anamnesis Template
- On the left-hand sidebar, click Veterinary.
- Click Clinical Setup.
- Click Anamnesis Template.
You will see the message "Configure the questions automatically included in every new anamnesis" and a list of your current questions.
Managing Your Questions
The screen shows your questions in a simple list, a few per page.
Adding a Question
- Click the Add button.
- Type your question — for example, "Is the patient eating normally?" or "Any vomiting or diarrhea in the last 48 hours?".
- Click the check mark to save.
Each question can have up to 50 characters. Short, direct questions are easier to answer during a consultation — save the details for the answer field.
Editing or Removing a Question
- Click the pencil icon next to a question to edit it, then confirm with the check mark or discard with the X.
- Click the trash icon to delete a question you no longer need.
How the Template Appears in a New Anamnesis
Here is where the magic happens. When you are writing an anamnesis in a patient's medical record:
- Use the command to insert your anamnesis questions.
- Veetz adds a neatly formatted table to the anamnesis text — one row per question, with a blank space beside each one, ready to be filled in during the interview.
- You can also open the template settings directly from the anamnesis screen to adjust your questions on the spot.
➡️ See the full flow in Recording an Anamnesis During the Consultation.
If your template is empty, Veetz will let you know that there are no anamnesis questions available to apply. Add at least one question and try again.
Suggestions for a Strong Template
- Start with the chief complaint: "What brings you in today?"
- Cover the basics: appetite, water intake, urination, defecation, behavior.
- Include prevention: "Vaccines up to date?", "Deworming up to date?"
- Order the questions the way you naturally conduct an interview.
Next Steps
