Managing Storage Locations: Know Where Everything Is

"Do we have it?" is only half the question — the other half is "where?". Storage Locations let you map the physical spaces of your practice inside Veetz: the stock room, the vaccine refrigerator, the shelf behind the front desk, even the mobile care vehicle. Every stock balance and movement is tied to a location, so you always know exactly where to look.

Opening Storage Locations​

From the main dashboard:

  1. Click on Product Management in the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Select Inventory, then Storage Locations.

You will see the list of existing locations. Click + ADD NEW to create one, or click a row to edit it.

Understanding the Fields​

  • Name: A clear, friendly name your team will recognize instantly (e.g., "Vaccine Refrigerator", "Main Stock Room"). Required.
  • Code: An optional short code for quick identification (e.g., FRIDGE-01).
  • Type: What kind of place this is:
    • Cost Center: An area of the practice that consumes stock (e.g., the surgery room).
    • Distribution Center: A hub that supplies other locations.
    • Warehouse: A general storage area.
    • Vehicle: A car or van used for home visits and mobile care.
    • Other: Anything that doesn't fit the options above.
  • Parent Storage Location: Optionally place this location inside another one, building a hierarchy — for example, "Shelf A" inside "Main Stock Room". This keeps large inventories organized.
  • Description: Free text for any useful details (access instructions, temperature requirements, and so on).
  • Active: Only active locations can be selected when registering stock operations. Deactivate a location instead of deleting it when you stop using it — its history stays intact.
Start simple

You don't need to map every drawer on day one. Start with two or three main locations and refine as your routine demands. You can add child locations at any time.
