Product Management in Veetz: A Complete Overview

Running a veterinary practice means much more than caring for patients. Medications, vaccines, pet food, and supplies all need to be registered, priced, stocked, and tracked. The Product Management module in Veetz brings all of this together in one place, so you always know what you have, where it is, and when it needs your attention.

This guide gives you a tour of the entire module and shows you where to find each feature. Think of it as your map — each stop has its own detailed tutorial.

Who can access this module?

Product Management is available to administrators of a Veetz subscription. If you don't see it in your sidebar, ask the administrator of your workspace to grant you access.

Finding the Product Management Menu

From the main dashboard, look at the left-hand sidebar and click on Product Management. The menu expands to reveal all the tools described below.

What's Inside

Catalog

The catalog is the heart of the module. It's where you register every product and service your practice offers — from vaccines and medications to consultations and grooming. Each item carries its name, prices, classification, and clinical details.

Inventory

The inventory area answers the everyday questions of any busy clinic: How much do I have? Where is it? What is about to expire? It opens with a dashboard that summarizes your stock health at a glance and gives you shortcuts to six powerful tools:

  • Stock Balance: See how much you have of each product, by storage location and batch.
  • Inventory Ledger: Audit every stock movement, with the resulting balance after each one.
  • Operations: Register entries, exits, adjustments, transfers, returns, exchanges, and reservations.
  • Storage Locations: Organize your physical spaces — warehouses, rooms, shelves, and even vehicles.
  • Expiration Dates: Find expired lots and act before products become unusable.
  • Reservations: Hold quantities for an order so the same item is never sold twice.

A Suggested Path for New Users

If you are setting up Veetz for the first time, this order works well:

  1. Register your suppliers — so you can link them to products later.
  2. Create your storage locations — define where stock will physically live.
  3. Organize categories, manufacturers, and product lines — build the structure of your catalog.
  4. Add your products and services to the catalog — the core of your operation.
  5. Register your first stock entries — bring your real-world inventory into Veetz.

From then on, the Inventory dashboard becomes your daily companion.

An internet connection is required

Inventory features work with live data to keep your balances accurate. If you are offline, Veetz will let you know and inventory screens will wait until your connection returns.
