Create a clinic template
Write a template once, such as a consent form, and veetz fills in the animal, owner and clinic data every time you issue it.
Before you begin
- You need permission to edit documents.
- Templates are created only in the Clinic library. In My documents you can only create documents.
Steps
- In the left menu, click Documents, then Clinic library. To keep things tidy, you can create a folder first: New → Folder.
- Click New → Template, type a title (for example, "Neutering consent") and click Create. The editor opens.
- Click Actions → Used in, choose where the template will be issued (Animal, Prescription or Supplier) and click Save.
- Write the text. Where a piece of data goes, click the tag icon (Insert field), search for the field and click it. It goes into the text as
{{animal.name}}, for example. - Click Save, then Actions → Publish.
tip
Choose Used in before inserting fields: the field list then shows only the fields that work there. All fields are listed in Document fields.
To add a fixed image, such as a stamp or a scanned signature, use the upload icon in the editor and click the image to adjust its size.
Done
You see the message "Template published", with the places where it is used. The template now appears when you issue a document.
If you edit the template after publishing, the badge Unpublished changes appears. Click Actions → Publish again so the change reaches new documents.
If something goes wrong
- Publish is greyed out: save the template first.
- "These fields cannot be filled where the template is used": a field does not belong to the place chosen in Used in. For example,
{{prescription.notes}}only works in a Prescription template. Remove the field or change Used in. - The template does not appear when issuing: check that it is published and that Used in matches where you are issuing it.
