Coming from Another Software?
Changing the system that runs your practice raises one question before all others: will I lose my history?
You will not. Your clients, your patients and their clinical records come with you — and so do the documents you print every day. This page explains what to prepare and how the move works, so that on your first day in Veetz everything already looks like yours.
Your History Comes With You
Migration is handled by our team, not left to you. What you need to do is gather what you have; we take care of turning it into a working Veetz account.
Typically, the information practices bring over includes:
- Clients and pet owners — contact details and history
- Patients — species, breed, dates, identification
- Clinical records — the medical history of each animal
- Products and inventory — items, prices and stock
- Services and price list — what you charge and how much
The exact scope depends on what your current system is able to export and on how your data is organized. Our team reviews your files before anything begins and confirms with you exactly what will be migrated.
Preparing Your Data Files
Export your data from your current system and save it in one of these formats:
.csv.xls.xlsx
Whenever possible, send one file per type of information — one for clients, one for patients, one for products, and so on. It makes the review faster and the result more accurate.
This is more common than you think, and it is not a dead end. Some systems hide the export function, and others don't offer one at all. Talk to our team anyway — in many cases we can work directly with your database. Don't give up on your history because of a missing button.
Send Us Your Documents and Reports
This is the part that makes the biggest difference, and the one most people skip.
Every practice has its own way of writing a prescription, its own certificate wording, its own report layout. That is not a detail — it is how your clients recognize you. Send us what you use today and we recreate it in Veetz, so you are not starting from a blank page.
What to gather:
- Clinical documents — prescriptions, health certificates, exam reports, imaging reports, consent and responsibility forms, intake and hospitalization sheets
- Administrative documents — quotes, receipts, service orders, labels
- Reports — the ones you actually run: revenue, cash closing, receivables, inventory position, appointments per period, vaccine reminders
- Your logo — the original file or a PNG, so your documents carry your identity from day one
A printed example of each is enough. It does not need to be prepared or made presentable — a scan or a photo taken with your phone works perfectly. If you prefer, blank out the client's name.
If something in your current documents has bothered you for years — the wording, the order of the information, something missing — write it on the page before sending. Cross it out, write next to it how it should read. That markup is the single most useful thing you can send us, and it is far easier than describing the problem in words.
In Veetz, These Documents Are Yours
Once your practice is running, you are not locked into any wording we write. Prescriptions, certificates and reports are written in a full document editor: you format the document the way you want, then save it as your own template and reopen it in one click whenever you need it.
The editor also inserts the patient identification header, the veterinarian signature block and the date for you — and you can dictate the text by voice instead of typing it. See Issuing Digital Prescriptions to know what to expect.
How the Move Works
- Talk to our team. Tell us which system you use today and what matters most in your routine.
- We tell you what to send. Based on your case, our team confirms which files are needed and arranges with you the best way to deliver them.
- You send your data and your documents. Data files in
.csv,.xlsor.xlsx, plus the documents, reports and logo described above. - We prepare your account. Your data is loaded and your documents are recreated in Veetz.
- You start working. With your history and your documents already in place.
Plans and Pricing
Data migration is offered as a service by our team, and the scope varies with the size of your practice and the state of your current data.
Please contact our customer service team for more information. We will look at your case, explain what is possible and tell you exactly what the process involves before you commit to anything.
