Understand the cash register notices at the point of sale
The top of the Point of Sale shows the status of your cash register. A notice does not stop you from building the sale: it tells you what to sort out before or after taking payment.
| Notice | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Cash register closed | You can prepare the sale, but you need the cash register to take payment. | Click Open cash register. See Open the cash register. |
| Previous cash register needs review | A cash register from another day stayed open. You can keep selling. | Click Regularize previous cash register and close it. |
| Receipts needing review | A payment was interrupted. You can keep selling. | Click Review receipts. See Review receipts in the cash register. |
| The cash register could not be verified | The check failed. You can prepare the sale. | Click Try again before taking payment. |
Done
After sorting it out, go back to the Point of Sale. The top shows Cash register open.
If something goes wrong
Never charge again for a sale already paid just to clear a notice. Check Already received in the receipt review. If the cash register belongs to someone else, ask a manager or administrator.
