Creating an Installment Payable
Some purchases are paid over time: a new piece of equipment in six installments, a supplier order split into three. An installment plan lets you register the whole purchase once, and Veetz creates each dated installment for you — so every part is tracked, due-date by due-date.
When to Use It
Choose an installment plan whenever a single purchase will be paid in fixed parts on separate dates. If the expense simply repeats on its own (like monthly rent), that's a recurring rule instead — see Creating a Recurring Payable.
Opening the Form
On the Accounts payable screen, click the + (add) button. At the top of the form, choose Payable type → Installment plan.
Filling in the Identification
Complete the Payable identification section exactly as for a single bill — Organization, Supplier / Payee name, Title, Document number, Category, Currency, and Amount. For an installment plan, the Amount is the total value of the purchase; Veetz divides it across the installments.
Setting the Installment Plan
In the schedule section, define how the total is split:
- First due date — the date of the first installment. The remaining ones follow from here.
- Installments — how many parts the total is divided into (from 2 up to 120).
- Interval in months — the gap between installments. Use 1 for monthly installments, 2 for every two months, and so on.
For example, a BRL 1,200.00 purchase with First due date on the 10th, 12 installments, and an Interval in months of 1 becomes twelve monthly installments of BRL 100.00, from this month's 10th onward.
Saving and Checking the Installments
Click Save. Veetz confirms the bill and opens it. Open the Installments tab to review the generated schedule: each row shows the installment number, its Due date, Status, Amount, and Outstanding. Confirm the dates and values match what you agreed with the supplier.
You don't pay the whole plan at once. Each installment is settled individually from the Installments tab — see Recording a Payment. The bill moves to Partially paid as installments are settled, and to Paid when the last one is done.
Next Steps
- Recording a Payment — settle each installment as it comes due.
- Exploring Accounts Payable — use the Next 7 days shortcut to catch upcoming installments.
- Attaching Financial Documents — keep the purchase contract or invoice with the bill.
