Quick Scheduling Shortcuts
You don't need to open the Scheduler first to book. Four shortcuts around Veetz jump straight into a new appointment with the relevant information already filled in — perfect for booking while the client is still at the desk or the patient's record is still open.
Who should read this: receptionists and clinical staff who schedule during other tasks.
The Four Entry Points
1. Dashboard tile
On the main dashboard, click the Scheduler shortcut tile. The Scheduler opens with the New appointment dialog already on screen — one click from login to booking.
Pre-filled: your organization and, if you have a professional profile, yourself as the professional.
2. Patient record
On a patient's page, use the Schedule appointment action. The Scheduler opens with the dialog ready.
Pre-filled: the patient and its owner as the client, plus your organization.
Use it when: the consultation just ended and the vet asks for a follow-up.
3. Vaccination history — Schedule vaccine return
In the patient's vaccination tracker, click the Schedule vaccine return button (the calendar icon next to the history).
Pre-filled: the patient, the owner as client, and the event type Vaccine return — which, by rule, goes on the organization's agenda with no professional. See Native Event Types.
Use it when: a vaccine was just applied and the booster date is known.
4. Client page
On a client's (pet owner's) page, use the Schedule appointment action.
Pre-filled: the client, plus your organization.
Use it when: the owner calls to book something for one of their pets — pick the patient in the dialog.
Always Review Before Saving
A shortcut fills the who; you still confirm the what and when:
- Title — describe the appointment.
- Event type — the shortcut may suggest one (vaccine return); confirm or change it.
- Start / End — the dialog proposes a time shortly ahead; set the real one, or use Find available times.
- Professional — confirm who will attend, when applicable.
- Click Save.
All the usual rules apply — open agenda, working hours, conflicts — exactly as in a booking started from the Scheduler page.
Common Problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Dialog opens without the patient | The shortcut was used from a page without a saved patient | Save the record first, or pick the patient manually |
| Wrong organization pre-selected | Another organization was active | Change the Organization in the Scheduler filters and book again |
| Save refused with an agenda message | Normal booking rules apply to shortcuts too | See Common Problems and Safe Recovery |
