Working with Open Sales: One Account, the Whole Team
A dog arrives for a day of tests. Reception opens the account, the veterinarian adds the exams, the groomer adds a bath, and hours later the tutor stops at the front desk to settle everything at once. In Veetz this is an open sale — a shared, living account that several people build together until the cashier closes it.
Before You Begin
- Everyone involved needs access to the Sales menu.
- Client and patient should be registered, so the account starts with the right context.
The Flow, Role by Role
1. Reception opens the account
At the Point of Sale:
- Click New sale.
- Select the Client and the Patient — even before any item exists. This is exactly the right moment: the patient locks after the first item.
- Click Save. The account now exists, is listed under Open accounts, and carries the visit's context.
2. Professionals add what they perform
During the visit, each professional:
- Opens the Point of Sale and picks the account in Select an open account — or finds it in Explore sales and continues from there.
- Adds their products, services, and procedures, with quantity and price. See Products, Services, Prices and Stock Behavior.
- Adjusts production credit if more than one professional participated. See Production Credit and Participants.
- Records or completes executions and instructions for their part of the work. See Executions and Operational Instructions.
- Clicks Save, keeping the account open for the next person.
3. The cashier reviews and closes
At the end of the visit:
- Open the sale — from Select an open account or from Explore sales.
- Review the items, quantities, discounts, and the Total with the client.
- Close the account: at the point of sale use Save and close, or in the sale details use the Close sale action and confirm. See Managing Sales and Statuses.
Closing the account states that the commercial content is final. Receiving the payment is a separate step, handled in the payments area of Veetz.
Collaborating Safely
Several people touching one account requires a little discipline. Veetz protects the record; these habits keep the flow smooth:
- Refresh before acting. If the account has been on your screen for a while, reload it (the sale details screen has a Reload button) so you act on the current content, not a stale copy.
- Veetz never silently overwrites. If a colleague changed the sale after you loaded it, your conflicting action is not applied over theirs. Instead, the screen shows: "This sale changed on another device. Reload to obtain the current Version before retrying the command."
- After reloading, repeat only what is still needed. Look at the current state first — your colleague may have already added the very item you were about to add. Consciously redo only the action that is genuinely missing.
Seeing "Conflict — reload before retrying" means Veetz refused to let two people overwrite each other. Reload, review, and continue. Never keep clicking the same button to "force" an action through.
Common Problems
- The account doesn't appear in Select an open account: Confirm it wasn't closed by someone else — check Explore sales, filtering by status.
- Two accounts were opened for the same visit: Keep one, move the items to it, and cancel the empty one with a clear reason.
- A colleague's items surprised you at closing time: That is the flow working — review each line with the client before closing, and question the team while everyone still remembers the visit.
