Record or revoke a client's email authorization
Record that a client agreed to receive email notices. Without this authorization, the client gets no email, even with the notices turned on.
Before you begin
- You need permission to edit clients.
- The client must have a valid email saved in their record. See Register a client.
Steps
- Open the client and go to Record.
- Under Authorizations, find Email. It shows Notifications not authorized.
- Click Authorize.
- In Authorization received via, choose how the client agreed: In person, WhatsApp, Email or Signed document.
- Tick the confirmation only if the client really agreed.
- Click Save authorization.
Done
Email now shows Notifications authorized, with the date. The client starts receiving the notices your business turned on.
To stop the emails, click Manage and then Revoke authorization.
Good to know:
- Saving an email address does not authorize the client.
- WhatsApp and email authorizations are separate.
- If the email address changes, the previous authorization no longer applies. Record a new one.
- The notices are operational: appointments, reminders, completed services and available exams. They do not include marketing.
If something goes wrong
- "Save the client record first": there are unsaved changes in the record. Click Save and try again.
- "Valid email required": fill in a valid Email in the record and save.
